WutSux is a bloke that I work with...

I have not spoken a single word to him in the last two and one half years and I despise him every time that I look at him.

So what is he a murderer, a pervert or some sort of lunatic? No, he is a pretty average sort, he comes in to work in order to pay the rent just like the rest of us. He has his family, he pays his taxes, watches TV and probably enjoys a pint of beer now and then, like I said pretty average.

Is he lazy? No lazier than the rest of us. It would not make much of a difference to my workload if he stood around all day and did nothing. Is he unpleasant? Sometimes yes he is, but the same could be said for all those that I work with.

Why then don’t I speak to him? We had a ruck, an altercation, a disagreement over . . . over what exactly I can’t remember. So how important could that argument have been? If the disagreement was about anything significant I would have remembered surely? Besides I have rows all the time, I can be quite argumentative. Usually by the next day I’m friends again with whoever I’ve had a spat with, the argument over and forgotten about.

So what’s my problem with this bloke? Why do I look at him each day and think “What a worm” “What a waste of space” and other nasty thoughts. You know WutSux is not that bloke that I work with, WutSux is my attitude to that bloke.

So we had a ruck, so big deal. It couldn’t have been about anything important or I would remember. I guess that there is only one thing for me to do, say sorry to him for my attitude and get to know the bloke. Might be work is less of a drag when I’m not standing around glaring daggers at some bloke for no good reason.
