That Darned Portable Camping Toilet

We were camping in the wild and set up one of those portable toilets that has folding aluminum legs and a plastic bag that holds the "you know what".

After 2 days camping, the plastic bag was getting full. I decided to use it one more time (which was a big mistake). The darned thing collapsed and left me sitting in a huge pile of "you know what". I didn't know what to do first...cry or try to get up without getting any messier than I already was. Thank goodness there was a stream nearby.

Since it was outdoors, my husband and children witnessed the event. I heard my husband tell the children "It would be best if you didn't laugh".

That was 35 years ago, and my family still talks about it. I guess I'll never live that story down!
